teamLab is back on the walls of Fukuoka Castle

チームラボが福岡城跡の石垣に戻ってくる

Seven years. That is how long Fukuoka has waited for this one.

On October 30 teamLab comes back to the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. Third time ever, first in seven years. If you live in this city, do not let this be the one you hear about afterwards.

The castle is the reason it works here. It was built over seven years from 1601 and it was one of the largest in Kyushu. So much of it was stone that people called it the stone castle. A lot of those walls are still standing.

That is the surface. Not a screen in a hall. Four hundred year old stone, outdoors, in the middle of the city.

It runs until January 11. Doors at 18:30 for the first week, then 18:15, with last entry at 21:30. Adults are 2,300 yen on a weekday and 2,500 yen at the weekend. Buying at the gate costs 200 yen more.

Two and a half months sounds like plenty. It is also long enough to keep saying you will go until it closes.
