Why a JLPT certificate is not enough
- The JLPT is held twice a year, so there is no way to measure someone at the moment you need to decide.
- The certificate in front of you can be up to half a year old, and Japanese moves in half a year — in both directions.
- It tests reading and listening only. It never asks the candidate to speak or to write a single line of Japanese.
What you receive
One written report per person, from us, based on the diagnostics they take. Three parts:
1. Level, in JLPT terms
Where they sit against the JLPT scale right now, measured this month rather than read off a certificate from last year.
2. Whether they work in a Japanese workplace
Keigo, hou-ren-sou, business manners, and the unwritten habits of a Japanese office — the part that decides whether the team around them can actually work with them.
3. Notes on their speaking
How they actually sound: what they can carry on their own, where they stall, and what a manager should expect in the first three months.
