I organized this night walking event last week near Fukuoka Tower, and it turned out wonderful.

We had a great time and the view was incredible, but more than that, we ended up having no participants from the same nationality this time.

It was such a diverse gathering representing 8 different countries: Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, South Africa, India, USA, and Indonesia.

It’s amazing how crossing just one national border changes everything, not only the language spoken, but also unique cultural nuances, perspectives, and ways of thinking.

Experiences like this serve as a powerful reminder of how much we grow when we step outside our usual circles and connect on a human level.

Looking forward to creating more spaces for cross-cultural connection right here in Fukuoka.

先週、福岡タワー近くでナイトウォーキングイベントを開催し、とても素晴らしいものになりました。

参加者の皆さんと素晴らしい時間を過ごし、景色も最高だったのですが、何よりも今回は同じ国籍の参加者が一人もいなかったのです。

日本、韓国、スイス、スリランカ、南アフリカ、インド、アメリカ、インドネシアの8ヶ国から参加者が集まり、まさに多様性に富んだ会でした。

たった一つ国境を越えるだけで、話される言語だけでなく、独特の文化的機微、視点、考え方までも全てが変化するというのは、本当に驚くべきことです。

このような経験は、私たちがいつものコミュニティから一歩外に出て、人間として繋がることで、どれだけ成長できるかを力強く思い出させてくれます。

ここ福岡で、異文化交流のためのより多くの場をこれからも作っていきたいと思っています。
