Fukuoka's Halloween is not on the street any more
福岡のハロウィンは、もう路上にはない
If you are new in Fukuoka and picturing a street Halloween in Tenjin, read this first.
Keigo Park is the place people imagine. This year the city has filled it with flowers instead. The One Flower Per Person Halloween Fest runs there from October 28 to November 1. The park opens at six in the morning and closes at five in the afternoon.
From October 27 to November 1 you cannot enter the park after five.
This is not new, and it is not random. In 2020 around six thousand people packed into that park on Halloween and it turned into chaos. The park has been shut at night over the Halloween period ever since.
So the night version of Halloween in this city is not on the street. It is indoors, in rooms, with people who already know each other.
Ours is on the 31st, from seven. Twenty seats, and twelve are already taken.
More than twenty countries and regions have come through this meetup. Earlier this month ten of us went out together and there were nine nationalities in the group. Put that room in costume on one evening and you have something you will not see twice.
Costumes are welcome. Coming as you are is also fine.

人が思い浮かべるのは警固公園です。今年、市はそこを花で埋めました。「一人一花ハロウィンフェス2026」が10月28日から11月1日まで開かれます。公園が開いているのは朝6時から夕方5時までです。
10月27日から11月1日は、5時を過ぎると園内に入れません。
急に決まった話でも、理由のない話でもありません。2020年のハロウィンには約6,000人がこの公園に押し寄せて、大混乱になりました。それ以来、ハロウィンの時期の夜は閉まっています。
つまり福岡の夜のハロウィンは、路上にはありません。室内の、すでに知り合いどうしの部屋の中にあります。
うちの会は31日の19時からです。席は20。もう12が埋まっています。
このミートアップには、これまでに20以上の国と地域の人が来ています。今月は10人で出かけて、その中に9つの国籍がありました。その部屋が一晩だけ仮装したら、二度は見られないものになります。
仮装は歓迎です。そのままで来ても構いません。
